Wall bas-relief's in the Monastery

On the North wall:

A sweeping bas-relief sculpture along the north wall depicts five bearded, larger-than-life humans riding the wind with triumph carved upon their faces. Though some of their arms and hands are missing, each is clearly meant to wield a distinctive weapon. One of the five warriors holds a large axe, while another holds a fragment of what must once have been a regal staff. In the distance, an ominous mountain looms over the quintet.

On the East Wall

The eastern cloister walk abuts what must be the outer wall of the monastery itself. The lengthy wall bears a marred sculpture depicting the five figures from the north cloister mural in battle against numerous creatures of evil demeanor. Several of the creatures appear to be composed at least partly of fire, while others are much more difficult to define, being outright monsters of unknown origin or unusual warriors with weapons bonded into their flesh like organic tools. In the background Pale Mountain looms large, and over it two titanic figures lock in a deadly wrestler’s embrace. One has the demoniac visage of a noble efreeti, while the other is a gorgeous woman who could only be a djinni princess.

On the South Wall

The southern wall bears a bas-relief sculpture in the form of a triptych. In the first scene, a heroic looking bearded figure takes leave of four similarly attired companions, who rise off into the heavens, leaving him to stand vigil over the large mountain in the background. The next scene depicts the bearded figure in battle with a flaming half man, half snake creature wielding a spear. The fire spirit transfixes the bearded hero with the spear, seemingly striking a killing blow. In the final scene, the hero appears twice—once on the ground with a wound in his back and once standing over this form, looking down upon it sadly.

On the West Wall

The outer wall of the west cloister passage bears a massive carving. The central figure—the heroic man with the pointed beard—preaches to a variety of human clerics from throughout the long history of the monastery. The first image depicts the figure manifesting in a spiritual manner to a small group of pilgrims of Sarenrae. Another shows the figure conversing with a man in religious finery while the monastery itself is being constructed in the background. Thereafter follows a procession of similar poses, each depicting a visit by the bearded man and the leader of each era of the temple. The depictions of these clerics often also bear an identifying inscription, complete with dates that span the last several hundred years. The most recent carving is from thirty years ago, and while ample room remains for additional carvings on the west wall, the last thirty feet or so are completely blank.

After returning to the camp with our dying and wounded we were reluctantly healed by Zastoran. Thumper showed the items he found in the Pugwampis next which the Cleric identified as a Phylactery of Faithfulness and a Ring of Feather Fall. Thumper feeling guilty for trying to have Omar fall his pony, gave him the ring. No one really needing their actions to be judged on decided to trade the Phylactery for some healing potions (3 light and 1 moderate). Under orders to clear the monastery the Party returned with more Red Shirts…I mean guards from the caravan to further explore the monastery. Entering deeper inside they found a giant nest with 2 lbs. blue eggs. Looking for traps, Drapsmann discovered a magical bastard sword which he quickly claimed as his. Omar investigating around the nest discovered murals depicting the Saint of the Monastery. These four murals hold special meaning, which has yet to be determined. Going to the North they found the former living quarters for those resided here. Clearly abandoned and tattered by time and other creatures the discovered Sleeping quarters, Dining room, Kitchen full of Pugwampis, Master bedroom with Baboons, and decrypted library. Omar found the Pugwampis in the kitchen and quickly closed the door after opening. Drapsmann found the baboons and attacked them. He was quickly joined by the others in the group who swiftly punished said baboons for jumping on the bed. Not wanting the pugawmpis to cause further mischief, Drapsman threw baboon corpse for them to feast on. And while investiging the library for kindling, Omar discovered a book relate to Genies. Taking the Genies book placed it next to the egg he took from the nest in his pack. Taking the rest of the books the party started a fire in the kitchen trapping the Pugwampis. Omar knowing that little shits couldn’t get away, was able to start open dialogue with them. The party learned from these pugwampis that they worship gnolls for their strength, that they have a leader named Mug Lug, and hate the “giant bird” that resides in the nest they found earlier. Trying to broker some deal, the party offered to kill the bird for their loyalty. Releasing one Pugwampis to find Mug Lug with their offer.

Raiders of the Lost Temple!
Pugwampis SUCK!!!!!!!

After returning to the group with the dead pugwampis. The group settled in for the night. The next morning the group packed up and headed to the next stop on their trip. An abandoned temple. While once a budding religious center of a local “saint”. Dashki under orders of Princess Almah went to investigate the temple. While the trip was long and some hijinks wer played (grease spell on a saddle anyone?}. The caravan arrived and Dashki came back withi his report. Telling everyone that while there were some signs of Gnoll activity none of it was “fresh”. Not really trusting Dashki the group under orders from Almah went to investgate with Dashki and Brotis. Entering the temple and into the sanctuary a morbid chandelier of Gnoll skull decorated the center of the room. While examining this disturbing piece of art he group was attacked……by pugwampis! The pugwampis rained small arrows on the group, they tried what they could to kill them, but the bad luck the Pugwampis produce made things extremly difficult. Dashki and Brotis were nearly killed and Omar and Drapsmann were near death when after killing 5 of the little bastards they decided to flee. Thumper investgating their nest discovered some magical items and with great urgency for the their fallen commrades the group gathered Dashki and Brotis and quickly fleed the temple looking for help from the cravan

What the hell is a Pugwampi?
Shortest kept secret EVER!

Our journey began as our caravan slowly moved towards the Sultan’s Claw. Drapsmann, Thumper, and Omar are traveling with Garavel. Each have their own reason for being there, but they are all brought together because of one peson. Princess Alhma. While Drapsmann follows behing as rear guard. Thumper keeps to himself making sure to hide his racial secret. Omar all the while is trying to make the stern Garavel to at least crack a small smile. Before anyone could get to comfortable they arrive at a gnarled tree with it’s long sun bleached limbs make a bone like hand. Below Princess Alhma’s camp awaits, but with an unexpected suprise. A fire has broke out into one of the wagons and the wind blows a Harrow Card. The card lands on Thumper who see that it is the Harrow Card of the Cyclone.

Drapsmann and Thumper quickly move to help push the rest of the wagons away as Omar tries to find out what happen. With so much chaos not much is learned right away. After moving the barrell of drinking water closer to the fire it is quickly extinguished. With the fire gone the tragedy of what happened is revealed. Upon inspecting the charred wagon. Inside held a terrible surprise. The charred remains of a person. It is quickly deduced that the deceased is a astrologist/fortune teller. He was a confidant and advisor to Princess Alhma. Despite her sadness, Princess Alhma is grateful to the heroes that came to her aid. Introducing everyone in the group first starting with Garavel. Upon taking a real good look at Garavel it is discovered that he has a unique item in his neck. This item is a “blessing” from the Pactmasters. While suspicious, Princess Alhma tells them she knew of this secret and it was inconsequential. She continues to introduce everyone else. Next person introduced is Dashki a shifty ranger and expert on Gnolls that ravage this unforgiven oasis. Zastoran a Cleric of Nehys, who appears to have his head in the clouds. Four men who make up Princess Alma’s guard. A group of mercenaries who came with us on our journey and finally a husband and wife team who are in charge of the animals. With the introductions completed. They buried the body and started to figure out what started the fire. Omar and Thumper go to speak with Princess Alhma. It was discovered that before his untimely demise that the fortune teller told her that her quest was a fool errand and only DEATH WILL BE FOUND! Thumper reveals the Harrow Card and the fact he is an elf to the group. Drapsmann finds Hadrod and Hadrah who he further upsets with his callousness when they tell them the plight of their goat. It was quickly intimidated out of the couple that they feel the fire was not an accident, but the work of someone who was jealous of having Princess Alhma’s favor. It is suspected that the ranger, who already seems guilty of something, has had a history of leading groups like this to their demise only to return to Katapesh with a heavy pouch of gold. Drapsmann, Thumper, and Omar find the ranger skulking around and confront him. They fail miserably trying to get him to confess, but Omar gets the sense that he is hiding something. “It must have been Pugwampi!” he claimed as the heroes investigated the wagon again. All this ruckus causes them to be brought before Princess Alhma who also has never heard of Pugwampis. She commands the group and Dashki to find the Pugwampi, kill it, and bring one back. The heroes follow Dashki into the wild to search for these “jackal rats” as he also calls them. They find a giant cacti patch and on top of the hill the goat that was lost. The adventures make their way through that cactus only to be stabbed horribly and repeatedly to get towards a sharp incline of a hill that the goat is located. While getting to the goat, multiple cases of bad luck occur as well being attacked by something unknown. Omar using Ghost Sound was able to scare their attacker into the open where Thumper bashed its head with his quarterstaff. Dashki shrieks saying what the heroes had killed was the infamous Pugwampi. Carrying the vile creature back with the goat the adventurers returned to a grateful caravan.

Drapsmann (Shawn) – being a fighter would most likely be there as a sellsword. Hired to travel with the caravan and unleash his sword on those stupid enough to try an attack them. Also as a general enforcer making sure peace and some civility is kept within the caravan
